Still working out the details, but I can tell you the who, what, and when. I am absolutely delighted to announce that Chanda Prescod-Weinstein will be joining us on Thursday, June 3rd, at 7 p.m. EDT to discuss her new book, The Disordered Cosmos: A Journey into Dark Matter, Spacetime, and Dreams Deferred. If you have not yet had the pleasure of encountering Chanda’s work, she’s a physicist, cosmologist, and feminist science studies scholar who responds to deep questions about how everything in the universe got to be the way it is. As she puts it, “Being an activist for equality in science is not only an enriching experience, it’s also part of getting science done.”
As a preview, I think you all might enjoy this conversation between Chanda and scholar Katherine McKittrick, whose book Dear Science and Other Stories you should also check out.
If you’re interested in joining us, you’ll of course need a copy of The Disordered Cosmos. While I’d of course encourage you to order from your favorite local bookstore or Bookshop, there have been reports of backorders. If that happens to you, I have it on good authority that Barnes and Noble has copies available…but try your local first!
I’m so looking forward to hearing directly from Chanda about her book, and I hope you’ll join us. To get the invite, just sign up for a premium membership for $5/month or $50/year.
